to my lydia beth –
I am not going to candy coat things. The last four nights have been some of the most difficult in our parenting journey. It has been grueling trying to calm you. You have a fever, and your sleep cycle has gotten completely out of rhythm. You have been fatigued beyond belief. We want so much to know how to calm your little spirit, but we have been lost. This morning at 3 am, I was singing to you; it seems to be the only thing that brings you comfort. As I was holding you, I began to learn so much about our great God and His unfailing love for us. He brought to my mind the words from Zephaniah 3:17, “The Lord your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.” The Lord your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.”
What a faithful God who loves without condition or end. I can’t wait to be in His presence and hear the song that He sings over you. I am certain it will be marvelous! Here are the three songs that I sang over you, my sweet baby. I hope they bring you peace your entire life, and I pray that one day you sing them over your children.
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus; there’s just something about that name.
Master, Savior, Jesus, like the fragrance after the rain;
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, let all Heaven and earth proclaim
Kings and kingdoms will all pass away,
But there’s something about that name.There’s Something About the Name by Bill and Gloria Gaither
In the presence of Jehovah
God Almighty, Prince of peace
Troubles vanish, hearts are mended
In the presence of the Kingin the presence of jehovah by the martins
We are standing on holy ground
For I know that there are angels all around
Let us praise Jesus now
For we are standing in His presence on holy groundholy ground by bill and gloria gaither
