Philippians 1:6; 2:12-13

He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus… Continue to work out your salvation… For it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.

Philippians 1:6; 2:12-13
I follow in procession
Behind my triumphant King
Countless promises given me
I don't want to miss a thing

He says, "I will not leave you."
And "The Lord is my helper."
The one who sets me on a rock
And is my strong shelter

I will stand in confidence
I will not shake with fear
Jesus exposed and conquered death
And always stays quite near

I follow in procession
Behind my triumphant King
He's God over impossible
He delights in doing great things

my inspiration

There are countless promises given to us by the Lord for times when things are hard…

‘I will never leave you or forsake you.’ So we can say with confidence, ‘The Lord is my helper’ (Psalm 118:6-7). I like the part, “with confidence,” don’t you?

We are not meant to shake with fear when faced by temptations. We may look up to Him who conquered the powers of evil when He “reigned from the Tree” (Psalm 96:10). Those powers can never say that He did not conquer them, for He both exposed them and made a show of conquering them openly.

Therefore, we follow in procession behind a triumphant Christ! And if our reliance is placed upon Him, we need never be defeated in spirit. Today, from hour to hour, He can and will lead us on to triumph – if we look to Him.

Over and over again I have seen the Lord do “impossible” things. I think He delights in the impossible!

my hero

My sweet Dad, John Kennedy, was diagnosed with ALS on July 19, 2022. He is braving the most devastating diagnosis that I could imagine. In prayer, he refers to this trial as “My great hurt” and I never want to forget this.

On Monday, February 6, 2023 (only seven months after my Dad’s diagnosis of ALS), the neurologist told us that my Dad could contact hospice – whenever he felt ready. I need the courage to trust – just like my Dad. He is the bravest man that I know.
