For how great is his goodness, and how great is his beauty!
Zechariah 9:17a
Please let my eyes see Your beauty You are most glorious to behold Grander still than all the flowers More magnificent than tales untold Please let my ears hear Your story It's found written in your Holy Word Life flows out - like crystal clear waters The most satisfying words I've heard Please let my tongue taste Your goodness It's sweeter than a honeycomb It saturates all that touches me And promises it will bring me home
my inspiration
How much are your eyes able to see of our Lord Jesus?
It is only as we look and look and look that we really see. And the more we know of the object we are looking at, the more we see in it.
Paul speaks of “…the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose shake I have lost all things” (Philippians 3:8). He was willing to lose all things and to keep looking and looking into Christ so that he might know Him better (v. 10).
How much are we willing to lose, that we may know, and so be able to see?
I want more and more to see HIs goodness and His beauty. Not vaguely, nor just from time to time. I want to see Him truly, continually, in His work, in those who love Him, in His book, in Himself.
